Phil Douglas (b. 1998) is an emerging contemporary queer figurative artist living in London. Initially practising and posting on Instagram under the pseudonym ‘The Sensitive Line,’ he found comfort in his identity and sexuality through the creation and sharing of his work, which explores the sensitivity of the male nude.
The artist works in pencil oil to develop his practice further. Working from life with queer models in his home studio space in Hampstead, his work echoes traditional academic life studies. Still, it transcends a looser touch, retaining the intimacy and energy of a moment.
